R Kalidass and Associates has been established as an emerging black-owned Chartered Accountant and Consultancy firm. We specialise in bringing integrity to the accounting and auditing profession, by delivering integrated information which clients can use to run their business with sustainable reporting.

This involves striking a balance between short-term financial reporting and long-term development of value, based on an appreciation of interlinking economic, social and environmental impacts that must be considered in its pursuit.

As much as we are confident of our technical and professional expertise in bringing solutions to our clients, we also partner with other firms for capacity building and skills transfer in complex and large assignments. Our partners are carefully chosen to maintain our core values and sustainable service in business.

Our Executive Leadership

Rachel Kalidass – Managing Director


Rachel Kalidass is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of extensive experience in internal & external auditing, financial management, business process review, corporate governance and risk management. She is currently the Managing Director of R Kalidass and Associates.

She has commendable experience within the public sector environment, and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors (IRBA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Institute of Directors (IOD).

She currently serves on the Audit Committee of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA Independent Audit Committee Chairperson), South African National Parks (SANPARKS Audit Committee Member), the National Library of South Africa (NLSA Audit Committee Member), and Department of Labour (Audit Committee Member) and Compensation Fund (Independent Audit Committee Chairperson).

Rachel was appointed by the then Minster BEE Molewa to the Business Process Review Committee of the Department of Water Affairs, responsible for the turnaround on finance and audit related matters for the period 2011 to 2014.

She is a current Board Member of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), South African National Parks (SANPARKS), Free State Gambling and Liquor Authority (FSGLA) and the National Library of South Africa (NLSA).

Rachel previously served as the Board Chairperson of the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA), Board Member of the Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB), and as an Independent Non-Executive Director of NEHAWU Investment Holdings.

Previously held audit committee positions include the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature, Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Education, Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Health, Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA), Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB), Inkomati Catchment Management Agency (ICMA), Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA), NEHAWU Investment Company as well as the Ehlanzeni District Municipality.

Candidates need to have a relevant auditing / accounting qualification and be team players who are also able to assume responsibility for their work, be determined and focused, be able to meet strict deadlines as well as have a passion for the work they do. Corporate Social Investment

The firm has an established practice of giving back to the communities in which areas the firm conducts business. Corporate Social Investment programmes are conducted on a bi-monthly basis and are focus on specific community needs identified.

R Kalidass & Associates is committed to community development. To this end, we invest in a Corporate Social Investment Project at the end of every project successfully awarded to us. Identified groups normally include orphans, schools, community projects and other destitute groups.
